Dr. George Gorgy is a Consultant of Immunohematology and Coagulation at Dr. Mohamed Al-Shabrawishi Hospital. He graduated from Faculty of Medicine Ain Shams university in 1992 and he obtained the master degree in clinical and chemical pathology in 1997. He joined Dr. Mohamed Al-Shabrawishi hospital in 2000 and has been working as head of Coagulation lab responsible for diagnosing rare bleeding disorders in Hemophilia treating center of his hospital. He is now supporting the Egyptian Hemophilia society to improve their registry on a national wise. He received Extensive Coagulation training at Royal Hallmshire hospital, Sheffield, United Kingdom in 2005 and at Royal free hospital, London. He obtained the MD degree from Cairo university in 2009 in Hematology. He collaborated with scientific team to invent medical devices producing virally inactivated plasma, cryoprecipitate and IVIG. He is responsible for the World Federation of Hemophilia training module for candidates seeking WFH fellowship in his center. He is also Auditor for ISO standards 9001, 14001 and 45001 and a Surveyor for Egyptian Accreditation council (EGAC) for blood bank, Hematology and coagulation for ISO15189:2022.
