Scientific Lead - Coagulation
Steve started at Sheffield in 1979, becoming Scientific Lead for Coagulation in 2000.
During this time, he has been instrumental in developing the department into the
nationally and internationally recognised centre it is, at the forefront of analytical
repertoire and service delivery.
He is co-author on 4 books, 20 book chapters, over 30 guidelines and in excess of 150
peer-reviewed articles. He is also a prolific and engaging presenter at many symposia,
conferences and user groups.
Awards presented to Steve across his career include the Inga Marie Nilsson Award and
the International Healthcare Volunteer Award (2008 and 2020 respectively), both from
the World Federation of Haemophilia, and the Lifetime Achievement Award from
Anticoagulation in Practice (2014).
