Dr. Meer Taher Shabani-Rad, MD, FRCPC, ABPath

Dr. M. Taher Shabani-Rad is a Clinical Professor of Pathology with over 20 years of leadership experience in laboratory medicine. Recently relocated to the UAE, he currently serves as Chief Medical Officer for Burjeel Holdings Laboratories (COLAB & OncoHelix). A board-certified Hematopathologist from UCLA and Molecular Pathologist, Dr. Shabani-Rad has a strong academic background from the University of Calgary, where he focused his research on laboratory utilization and the molecular aspects of hematological neoplasms and Transfusion Medicine as Clinical Professor of pathology.

He has played a significant role in advisory capacities, including a 15-year tenure on the National Advisory of Canada for blood and blood products and served as provincial leader of Transfusion and Hematology operation, and clinical led for lymphoma and myeloid groups in Alberta. As a co-founder of OncoHelix, he is dedicated to advancing genomic and cellular immunology diagnostics. Dr. Shabani-Rad is also recognized for his contributions to medical education and mentoring future professionals in pathology.
